Admissions

To be eligible for a place at DVLSC your young person must meet the following criteria:

​

  • Have an Education Health and Care Plan.

  • Have a severe or profound and multiple learning difficulty, this may be alongside other complex needs.

​

We encourage families to visit the Life Skills College to learn more about the placement.

​

If you are resident in Brighton and Hove then your application will need to come through the SEN team at the local authority.

For East and West Sussex please contact your SEN team in addition to contacting the college.

How are Places Allocated?

​The considerations below determine allocation of places at College.

​

  • Placements must be appropriate to the learner’s needs.

  • The placement should be compatible with the interests of the other learners at the College.

How many places are there?

There are up to 50 places available.

Come for a visit to get a first hand understanding of who we are and what we offer. Contact us to arrange a visit.

​

If you wish to apply for a place, please work with your local authority SEND team to attain funding and name the setting.

 

We primarily serve the BHCC local authority, but by exception will offer places to East and West Sussex.

​

Please note, in year applications may be accommodated and would follow the same process.
